I have an original purple velvet a-line dress from the 50's with a square neck. I wore it as a bridesmaids dress in the fall and it worked very well. I have a fun formal coming up in March and I would like to know how to wear this dress without looking too vintage. It is sleeveless and the hem stops just above the knees. It is very modest and I don't want to end up looking frumpy or under dressed.
If someone could advise me on how to where this (shoes, accessories, hair, makeup etc.) or whether it is appropriate to wear this, I would be very thankful.
It's basically the same as the picture but sleeveless. I have a very tiny waist and I like the way this dress really accentuates it.
I really like the boots, but I have no idea how to wear them! I don't have them yet, but I am thinking about buying them. Can anyone give me some advice on how to wear them? Oh and also I like the short, black patent ones, too. Which ones would be more versatile?
